Brand new album now available!!!

ENGLISH
The Brazilian composer will present three new albums this year. The first release is a very special EP, that is already available in internet, recorded by Leo Minax and Toninho Horta. A truly beautiful live studio recording with one of the legends of Brazilian music. The second one, with many original songs recorded as a duo as well with Leo`s great friend Germán Kucich on piano. This will be the second album released with Kucich as a duo. The third album is an ambitious project that includes original arrangements of Leo’s songs performed by a four-piece horn section. A new repertoire, with 10 unreleased songs and an unprecedented approach in the author’s career. Minax has been preparing these new compositions with great enthusiasm, with beautiful and inspiring arrangements written by great musicians. The line-up features Borja Barrueta on percussion, Daniel Juárez on tenor sax, Aarón Pozón on alto sax, Nacho Loring on trumpet and Roberto Lorenzo on trombone. Pablo Martín Caminero is our special guest, on double bass, and Carles Campi Campón (multi-Grammy Award winner) is our artistic producer.
This year we also released the documentary/interview with Leo Minax & Chico Amaral, directed by Marinho Antunes, which is now available online.

«Innovative, creative, a master of composition, completely in tune with the times, Leo Minax brings us the conviction that songwriting is always something transformative. And this is what we want! …
Lô Borges
«Leo Minax is one of the most creative and original composers of his generation in contemporary Brazilian Popular Music. His voice has a very beautiful timbre, and his melodies and harmonies truly capture the atmosphere of the state of Minas Gerais, where he was born and raised – the cradle of many great musicians».
Toninho Horta
“…My wish is that Leo Minax’s songs can be heard here in Brazil (…) and that Brazilians can have access to these delicacies prepared with our ingredients, so far from home. Intelligence flies, but affection always feels saudade. Wherever the songbird may be, here or there… Leo, fly, but come back! Your songs are a generous gift to Brazil, which needs them so much, even if it doesn’t know how to receive them.”.
Chico César
«Leo Minax is a complete artist. He composes very well, the lyrics and the melody. Moreover, he is an assured and expressive singer. And not only that: he also plays the guitar with total mastery. He has an unusual rhythmic sense and his harmony is extremely rich. His performances on stage are unbeatable. Leo puts all of this in the service of his art. Sometimes he seems a contemporary troubadour, singing verses full of poetry. Other times he`s just looking for a song that’s complete, well-formed.
We are friends and partners. We’ve made a few good songs, with the promise of increasing the harvest. I really like sharing the stage with him!»
Chico Amaral
«Leo Minax’s music does good: it brings a little more light to the world and repairs the ossified gears of pleasure.»
Diego Vasallo
«Born in Minas Gerais, his name reflects the land that guides his work, ensuring it is heard worldwide. His work should be heard by many different tribes. It’s original music, and he always collaborates with extraordinary people. Congratulations, Leo! I enjoy listening to you more and more each time!”
Wagner Tiso
«He is a thoroughly contemporary artist with such diverse (…) influences that they dissolve into his songs without leaving any obvious traces, only hints and clues. Although certain chord progressions and intonations place him somewhere: Minas Gerais, that vast landlocked state that gave us Toninho Horta, Milton Nascimento, Lô Borges…»
Carlos Galilea
